PUNCHLOVE
PUNCHLOVE

“There’s an irresistible hypnotism to Punchlove that makes it tough to focus on anything other than their music. The group’s latest release, for instance, almost has a tranquilizing effect that evokes no resistance amid its density. A specimen of noise, “(sublimate)” is further proof of the Brooklyn-based outfit’s proclivity for tasteful disturbance.” - Consequence of Sound
Punchlove is the experimental art rock vision of multi-instrumentalists Jillian Olesen, Joey Machina, Ian Lange-McPherson, David Moberg, and visual artist viz_wel. Quietly evolving from Olesen’s COVID-19 bedroom project into a synaesthetic, headlining live phenom, the Brooklyn-based five-piece blends densely layered, emotionally serrated noise-pop with immersive performance and production—delivering an immense, original, and digitally inflected brand of modern alternative rock.
Their debut LP Channels (Kanine Records, 2024) marked a major turning point, earning wide acclaim for its visceral depth and catalyzing a new chapter of creative intensity. Known for live sets that fuse projection, lighting, live sampling, and installation, Punchlove has been hailed as “one of Brooklyn’s best live bands” (Brooklyn Magazine) and praised by Under the Radar for creating “a genuine moment of collective, jaw-dropping awe” at their FOCUS Wales debut in 2024.
Following a year of international touring, the release of their EP O, and the addition of new bassist David Moberg, Punchlove is preparing their next full-length—pushing further into experimental pop and art-rock territory with bold production, poetic lyricism, and boundary-blurring performance.
