The Smith Street Band + Tired Radio + Second YouthSUNDAY PUNK ROCK MATINEE

SECOND YOUTH
Anchors Aweigh Records • Sicily
Guess it should come as no surprise that the name of this Italian outfit already gives away a few hints about what they’re about musically. This is punk rock that avoids the trends that have ravaged the scene since the 2000s. It’s a bunch of dudes still doin’ what they love — which, in this case, is playing street punk that sounds straight outta Berkeley, or Sweden, or wherever the hell all the bands you were listening to back then came from.
Still guitars around the ankles. Still getting in the van. Still spilling malt liquor over some Minor Threat sticker.
FFO: Rancid, Bombshell Rocks, Italian Love Songs
TIRED RADIO
Red Scare Records • New York City
Tired Radio is a bruising, melodic four-piece from Brooklyn, NY. Beneath the ripping guitars, explosive drums, and anthemic vocals, at the core of any Tired Radio song, you’ll find a tender heart mired in grit and absolute vulnerability.
It’s fun and it’s serious. It’s sad — but it isn’t.
FFO: The Lawrence Arms, The Run Up, L train rides
THE SMITH STREET BAND
Pool House Records • Melbourne
Their new album is called "Once I was wild"...does this mean we can't get "young drunk" anymore? Let's find out on 14th June. Glad they are back on tour.
FFO: The Smiths, 187 Straßenbande, Aussie bands without mullets
The show starts early, so you can still catch the Touché Amoré show later that night or watch Germany vs. Curaçao at the World Cup.
